{"id":7974,"date":"2015-11-14T05:03:46","date_gmt":"2015-11-14T11:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fourpointedstar.com\/gallery\/?p=7974"},"modified":"2020-01-18T19:20:21","modified_gmt":"2020-01-19T01:20:21","slug":"lets-start-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fourpointedstar.com\/gallery\/2015\/11\/lets-start-part-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Let&#8217;s Start at the Very Beginning, Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it\u2019s often difficult to define why something is beautiful for one person and not for another.\u00a0 However, I have found a few general principles that should help you build a better photo:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">1.\u00a0 Pick 1 object to focus on.\u00a0 Find a single point of interest, and build your photo around that Subject.\u00a0 If possible, frame your photo so that no other object competes with your chosen Subject.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">2.\u00a0 Place that Subject on one of the points described in the Rule of Thirds.\u00a0 There are many fantastic descriptions of the Rule of Thirds, and it\u2019s likely the more pervasive rule in photography.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">3.\u00a0 Use leading lines to point to the Subject, or to show motion for the Subject.\u00a0 Leading lines help draw the viewer into the image and center their gaze on the Subject of your image.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">4.\u00a0 Fill the frame of your photo with the Subject and objects that compliment the Subject (like leading lines). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Using the suggestions above won\u2019t automatically produce a better image, and there are many times when you can ignore each of the suggestions.\u00a0 Your photograph is an extension of your artistic taste, express yourself and don\u2019t let someone else and their suggestions or rules define your art. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 150px;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u2022 Joshua L.
